Ledida’s team admits not everything is fine with agriculture

As a result of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 19, which addressed the issue of livestock breeding development in Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and Chernivtsi regions, Governor Alexander Ledyda issued a directive that recognized insufficient work of Berehovo district administration as to the state of livestock breeding and realization of existing potential of the industry. Work of Uzhgorod district administration in general has been found unsatisfactory for the failure of the implementation of measures aimed at the development of livestock breeding.

The document also involves this year plans to increase the performance of livestock production and number of livestock farm animals, to build five dairy farms in the region and reconstruct four pig farms. It is also planned to buy 31 milking machines and to create 13 agricultural service or harvesting and marketing cooperatives to provide services for preparation, realization and trade of milk and meat, produced by the people’s farms. The financial burden of implementing this decision will depend mostly on local government.
