Korzo is free (Photo-fact)

The infamous "kiosk", that was standing on the main pedestrian street of Uzhgorod for almost a year, has finally been removed. This was reported by the City Council, that had been desperately trying to get rid of the strange tent of the equally mysterious organization "People’s Lustration" since April.  The City Hall reported:

"Uzhgorod City Council received the report about installation of the tent in late July 2015. However, what was going on in the tent on Korzo for a long time was not consistent with the declared purpose of the campaign, violated street maintenance rules, outraged Uzhgorod residents and guests.

In early April 2016, employees of the executive committee of Uzhgorod city council conducted an inspection and found out that there were no representatives / members of the public organization "People’s Lustration" inside or around the tent, as well as no campaign materials or technical means for campaigning. Instead there were unknown persons sleeping in dirty sleeping bags, who refused to introduce themselves and show any documents. There was also an electric stove for cooking, bottles of alcohol and a lot of trash.

Uzhgorod city government, within its authority, has used all available means to have the tent dismantled and removed.  

The executive committee of Uzhgorod City Council filed to the court a lawsuit against the public organization "People’s Lustration" to prohibit the public protest with installation of the tent.

After negotiations with representatives / members of the NGO, the tent was finally dismantled. In the new year 2017, the tent, which was supposedly set for political campaigning, and in actuality served as a shelter and garbage dump, is no longer in the center of Uzhgorod."

According to the information available to Uzhgorod.in, which, in fact, is no secret to Uzhgorod residents, the tent of the so-called NGO was used by the men who were guarding the shop, that was illegally seized by the notorious former deputy Mayerchyk.

The owners won the court, but the raider would not let them into the premises… Back in the summer, the regional authorities promised to help and finally solve the case, however these words had no effects.
