“King’s Gospel 1401” was sent to the library of the British Museum

On December 23, the day before Christmas, the last in this year presentation of the facsimile "King’s Gospel 1401" took place in Ternopil.  

The creators of the project – the head of the Design Department of the Transcarpathian Art Academy, Ph.D., associate professor Odarka Sopko (Dolhosh), Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Yuriy Hleba from Uzhgorod, artistic and technical editor Irina Dyak from Lviv – came at the invitation of a local journalist, researcher of old books Volodymyr Moroz.

After that, Mr. Volodymyr wrote on Facebook: "Ternopil presentation of the King’s Gospel was very successful. The atmosphere was just wonderful, and specialists from Uzhgorod and Lviv told about the secrets of this 615-year-old monument. One copy of the facsimile edition was presented to the Ternopil Regional Universal Scientific Library."

According to Odarka Sopko (Dolhosh), a number of cultural, educational and artistic events under the project "Manuscript heritage of Transcarpathia. Facsimile edition of King’s Gospel 1401" took place this year in museums and libraries of Ukraine.

Copies of the facsimile edition of the Gospel were sent to research institutions both in Ukraine and abroad, including: the Museum of Books and Printing of Ukraine, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, A. Sheptytsky Museum in Lviv, the Museum of Ancient Ukrainian Book – Bibliological Museum and Research Center in Lviv, the Museum at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Brooklyn (United States), the library of the Institute of Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Library of Ukraine, the Institute of Manuscripts, Lviv National Library, the library of the British Museum, the department of manuscripts, the library of Ukrainian Catholic University, the library of Ukrainian Academy of Printing, Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library, Transcarpathian Art Academy, the Scientific Library of UzhNU, Vynogradiv district libraries.

By the way, at the "Book Fest" context, the facsimile edition won the Grand Prix.
