Yesterday, March 26, Solomyansky District Court of Kyiv imposed a pre-trial restraint on the judge of the Rakhiv district court, who is suspected of extortioning a bribe.
The prosecutors of the specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office filed a petition for detention of the judge with bail in amount of 288 thousand hryvnias, but the court decided on another amount – 153.7 thousand hryvnias.
The SAP notes that the decision on a possible appeal of the court ruling will be made after reviewing the full text of the ruling and the motives for its adoption. Previously, it was reported that the Transcarpathian judge was caught on extortion of UAH 10,000 for consideration of the case in favor of the plaintiff.
Recently, the SAP indicted the detained judge.
The proceeding was opened under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, obtaining of undue advantage by an official for committing actions in the interests of the person giving undue advantage through abuse of office.
