Last night, Transcarpathian patrol policemen drew up 5 reports for driving under the influence. The first driver was stopped for violating the traffic rules on Kapushanska Street in Uzhgorod, and he took the test for the state of intoxication at a medical institution, where the result showed 1.03 ppm. Another driver was stopped on Mytna in Uzhgorod – the Drager showed 1.14 ppm.
But the man driving a car "Opel Vectra" showed the highest level of contempt for the law – he was stopped for the first time at 4 o’clock in the morning. He had obvious signs of alcohol intoxication, but he refused to take test in the presence of 2 witnesses. Another crew stopped him at 6 o’clock in the morning, this time he agreed to take a test for the state of intoxication – the Drager showed 1.34 ppm.
The driver, who was stopped on the section of the M-24 highway with obvious signs of alcohol intoxication, refused to take a test in the presence of 2 witnesses. However, the refusal also involves drawing up a report and by no means is an exemption from liability.
One can only hope for a fair court decision. Together we will make our region safe.
