In Vynogradiv district, an AUDI hit a cyclist

In Vynogradiv district, a car hit a cyclist. The victim died from the injuries. The police launched criminal proceeding over this incident.      

Yesterday, on November 19, in the evening, the police received a report of a road accident with fatal consequences in Vynogradiv district. The driver, who had hit the cyclist, reported the accident himself. 

Police officers found out that the tragedy had occurred around 19.00 on the highway between the villages of Pidvynogradiv and Ruska Dolyna. A 30-year-old resident of Irshava district, driving a car AUDI, while overtaking of another car hit a cyclist who was moving in the opposite direction.

The victim, a 66-year-old resident of Pidvynogradiv, died on the spot. 

The driver was tested, he was found to be sober. 

The police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules, which caused the death of the victim). The car was taken to the impound lot of ​​the Vynogradiv police department. 

The case is being investigated by investigators of the specialized division for investigation of crimes in the field of transport of the regional police investigation department. During the investigation, a number of examinations will be made to determine the circumstances of the road accident.
