Yesterday, around 23.10, the police received a report about an accident at the entrance to Vynogradiv. Officers of the investigation team of the Vynogradiv Police Department arrived at the scene of the accident. The policemen found out that a 69-year-old driver of a VAZ-2106 was moving from the village of Kopanya towards the district center and hit a cyclist. The cyclist was moving in the same direction. During a crash, the cyclist sufferred fatal injuries and died at the site of the accident.
The investigation department of the Transcarpathian regional police opened a criminal proceeding over the accident under Part 2 of Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles that caused the death of the victim). The car was taken to the impound lot of the Vynogradiv police department. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
