Late last week, an official delegation from Transcarpathian region on the invitation of Hetman Jiří Byehounek visited the Czech Vysocina.
During the visit, the delegation met with the Deputy Hetman of Vysocina Vladimir Novtny, Senator of the Parliament Milos Vystrycil and deputies of the region. During six years of partnership, 25 joint investment projects worth over 16 million hryvnias have been implemented in almost all districts of our region. Kindergartens, schools, hospitals, centers for social rehabilitation have been reconstructed. Last year, under the agreements between the regional council chairman Ivan Baloha and Hetman Jiri Byehounek, in the budget of Vysocina region five million crowns were allocated for cooperation with Transcarpathia. 10 projects were co-financed.
During the visit, it was agreed that in late February Hetman of Vysocina Jiri Byehounek will visit Transcarpathia to finalize the program of further cooperation for this year. And renovations at schools and kindergartens will continue. Senator Milos Vystrycil said that in the new Czech parliament the Club of Friends of Transcarpathia is being formed. Among the major plans of the club is opening of the Consulate of the Czech Republic in Uzhgorod and the implementation of other joint projects. In autumn Czech parliamentarians plan to visit our region.
Andriy Serbaylo on behalf of the Transcarpathian delegation thanked the management of Vysocina and Provincial Deputies for a sincere and warm welcome and noted that cooperation, based on mutual respect, must deepen. On Saturday, the Transcarpathian delegation visited the Biathlon World Championships, held in Nové Město na Moravě. There was the meeting with the Czech parliament senators and the Hetman of the region Jiri Byehounek. Afterwards, the delegation watched the Biathlon competition. Recall that on Saturday athletes from Ukraine won medals – Olena Pidhrushna became world champion in the sprint and Vita Semerenko became bronze medalist.
