On November 25, at 1:35, neighbors reported to the Rescue Service "101" about a fire in the timber warehouse of a private woodworking company on Lysenko street (Horyany neighbourhood) in Uzhgorod.
Crews of the 14th and 15th State Fire and Rescue Units of the regional center and the special purpose rescue squad of the State Emergenices Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region were sent at the scene.
Because of a belated notification, at the time of arrival of the fire and rescue units, the fire had almost completely engulfed the roof of the building. In total, 5 vehicles and 23 firefighters were working at the scene.
The fire was contained at 2:35, and completely eliminated at 5:55.
The fire destroyed the roof on the area of about 200 square meters, the ceiling on the area of about 50 square meters and 10 cubic meters of lumber. The adjacent building was saved from destruction by fire.
The cause of the fire and damages are under investigation. One of the probable options is short circuit in power supply network.
Nobody was injured and killed in the fire.
