The incident took place in the Dil tract near the village of Yarok. Realizing the danger, the man did not touch anything and immediately called the Rescue Service, the website of the city of Uzhgorod informs.
Bomb experts of the Emergency Rescue Detachment inspected the surrounding area of 40 square meters and found 30 more pieces of ammunition. In total, there were 31 explosive objects in the forest: Sixteen 82 mm mortar shells, eight 50 mm mortar shells and seven 100 mm artillery shells. All ammunition was from the Second World War period. It was transported to the military training ground in the village of Orikhovytsia, where it was destroyed.
