A 43-year-old man was arrested yesterday, November 2, in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine, near the hotel complex in Uzhgorod district, the communications department of the Transcarpathian police informs.
He is suspected of committing a criminal offense. Officers of the Department for Combating Crimes Related to Trafficking in Human Beings of the Transcarpathian regional police conducted operative and investigative measures, during which they found out that, while working as a taxi driver, the man was engaged in trading in prostitution. In total, he was working with four women.
On the same day, he brought to the hotel complex two women, who were going to provide clients sex services for a reward in the amount of 2,700 hryvnias.
The "businessman" left part of the reward for himself, and gave the rest to the women.
Investigators of the Uzhgorod Police Department opened a criminal proceeding over this incident under Part 2 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is, trading in prostitution or getting a person invlolved in prostitution committed against several persons or repeatedly.
Currently, the man is in a temporary detention facility. According to the sanction of the article, he faces imprisonment for a term of four to seven years.
