More than 60 million hryvnias has been paid to employers and employees, as well as individual entrepreneurs. These payments have become a kind of lifeline for these people. For example, Olga Ombodi, who owns a pub in Uzhgorod, for a while has been serving visitors on the terrace. But this does not save from the losses suffered by her catering establishment. Out of ten employees, only two are working in shifts.
Olga Ombodi’s establishment manages to survive thanks to the program of assistance for partial unemployment during the quarantine period, which is implemented through the Employment Center. So, as an entrepreneur, she receives 2,600 hryvnias a month under this program, and employees receive two-thirds of the minimum wage.
The assistance is paid to those who applied within 90 days of the quarantine. It will be allocated within 30 days after its ending, the Uzhgorod city website informs.
