In Transcarpathia, due to an increase in the flow of illegal migrants, the border will be reinforced with more than 100 border guards

Sniffer dogs and over 30 pieces of equipment were dispatched along with the personnel.

Reinforcement of the border guard reserves is needed due to a significant increase in the flow of illegal migration in Transcarpathia – by 80% compared to the last year, – the spokeswoman of the Chop border guard detachment Olena Trachuk said.

– While last year, during the period from summer through autumn, we detained 161 people, this year we have detained 289 people for the same period. The current trend is that migrants are transported abroad in large groups of 12-25 people. They are also detained by neighbors – Hungarians and Slovaks, – Trachuk said.
