In Transcarpathia, candidates are campaigning in the clinic and on lamp posts (PHOTOS)

In Uzhgorod, campaigning posters for a candidate for the mayor Maria Badyda were found in the city children’s clinic. Observers of the OPORA recorded this fact on October 12.

A poster was hung in Uzhgorod city children’s clinic on the door of the room where coffee and sweets are sold.

The candidate for the mayor Maria Badyda in her comments to the OPORA admitted that posters had been placed inside the clinic without her knowledge.   

According to the legislation, it is prohibited to place printed campaign materials in the premises of state authorities or local governments, enterprises and institutions of state or municipal ownership.

October 10, in the village of Velyky Berezny in Transcarpathian region, the OPORA observers recorded campaigning materials in places not intended for such purpose according to the law. In particular, leaflets from the candidate to the Transcarpathian Regional Council Vasyl Churey (the party "Nash Krai") were pasted on lamp posts.

The OPORA reminds that in accordance with paragraph 5 of Part 9 of Article 60 of the Law of Ukraine "On local elections," it is prohibited to place printed election campaign materials, political advertising and messages on the electoral process on architectural monuments, on objects of cultural heritage, on buildings and in the premises of state agencies, local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations of state and municipal property, and in places where they impede road safety.
