In Transcarpathia, border guards found cigarettes in a fuel tank

Border guards of the Mukachevo border guard detachment prevented another attempt of illegal transportation of tobacco products across the border. Thus, yesterday, a passenger car "Volkswagen" arrived at the international checkpoint "Luzhanka" to leave Ukraine through the "green corridor" lane. The vehicle was driven by our compatriot. Having noticed a significant anxiety of the driver, the border guards suspected him of moving in his vehicle items and materials prohibited for movement across the border. Hence, the border guards decided to conduct an in-depth inspection of the car.

     During the joint border guard and customs inspection, they found 495 packs of tobacco products. The man tried to smuggle cigarettes hiding them in a specially built-in compartment of the fuel tank with access from underneath the rear seat. Border guards found the cache with the help of

sniffer dog "Tero" trained to detect tobacco.  

     The relevant report was made. And the man lost not only the contraband tobacco products, but also his car. The cigarettes were estimated at almost 5,000 UAH, the car was estimated at 28,607 UAH.
