The offenders, who committed crimes in a controlled border area, were detained yesterday by border guards during joint activities with officers of the National Police in Transcarpathia.
While patroling the territory adjacent to the border, the border guards of the "Bohdan" department of the Mukachevo detachment noticed two unknown people getting out of a Toyota Land Cruiser with Czech registration and heading towards the state border. After the lawful request of the border guards to stop and show documents, the men began to flee, one of them fired several shots in the air. In turn, the border guards made warning shots in the air, but this did not stop the offenders who ran in the direction of the village of Bohdan.
The border guards informed officers of the Rakhiv department of the National Police in Transcarpathian region about this fact and began operational and search activities. During the inspection, they identified and detained the offenders. They were a 30-year-old and 25-year-old residents of the village of Bohdan in Rakhiv district of Transcarpathian region. In addition, law enforcement officers found the vehicle, a used cartridge, and a hunting rifle.
The detainees were taken to the Border Guard Service department "Bohdan" for drafting administrative procedural documents under Art. 202, 185-10 of the CAO. The detainees refused to explain their actions. The punishment for the offenders will be determined by the court.
