Transhipment base was in the warehouse of a farm in a village of Tyachiv district. On examination, detectives found twenty-two barrels filled with alcohol, with capacity of 200 liters each.
According to preliminary estimates the cost of the detected alcohol is 200 thousand hryvnias. According to the available information the alcohol was transferred in Transcarpathia from neighboring regions. Later on it was to be used for the production of counterfeit alcohol.
Investigators of the tax police launched pre-trial investigation.
"Detection of crimes in sphere of excisable products, which pose a threat to human life and health, remains one of the priorities of the tax police. This year we seized such products worth nearly half a million. Such crimes, according to the Criminal Code, are punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of illegally produced goods and forfeiture of manufacturing equipment, "- said the first deputy head of the tax police of STS in Transcarpathian region Eugene Pryndak.
