In Transcarpathia, athletes will run to give a girl chance to walk

On Friday, April 11, at 14.00, in Uzhgorod Press Club, there will be a press conference of the organizers of the charity event – a 100-kilometer race along mountain trails of Transcarpathia by an athlete, tourist, discoverer and just an interesting person – Dmytro Dzhmil together with his colleague.

The event will take place under the slogan "I’m running so she could walk" and is dedicated to the 14-year-old Maria Melesh from Irshava district that needs major rehabilitation after three difficult surgeries. 

Tetyana Ihnatyo – the head of the educational Kolping Center, Regional Assistant, the organizer of the event; Denys Kompaniyets – design engineer, athlete, participant of the event; Dmytro Dzhmil – IT specialist, athlete, participant of the event will meet with journalists. 

The race will take place on the track from the Užocký pass through the Uklyn pass, the Olenivsky pass to Perechyn district and to the center of Uzhgorod – Teatralna Square, and will last an average of 18 hours.Throughout the run, Dmytro will be accompanied by a cyclist with necessary spare equipment and food, as well as constant communication with the radio presenter. It is impressive that Dmytro will run on the track at night, ha says that it’s more convenient – less heat and traffic.
