In Transcarpathia, a couple attacked a police officer

In the town of Khust, a suspect and his wife resisted police officers who were documenting a crime involving a child. Criminal proceedings over the incident were initiated.
According to the communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police, yesterday, December 10, a resident of the city appealed to the Khust police department. The applicant reported that her 11-year-old son had been beaten by a man.
In the process of processing this appeal, police officers identified the alleged abuser of the child. He was a resident of Khust. Police officers arrived at his place.
“Law enforcement officers found out that the owner of the house was in a state of intoxication. In order to establish the circumstances of the case, the man was asked to go to the Khust police station for explanations. However, he began to behave aggressively, swear obscenely, and resisted the lawful orders of a police officer.
According to Article 45 of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Police of Ukraine", the man was handcuffed. After that, he was taken to the city police station, where they made a report of administrative offense under Article 185 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (malicious disobedience to the lawful order or request of a police officer),” – the report reads.
The man’s wife was also behaving aggresively. During the detention of the man, the woman intentionally inflicted bodily harm to the senior sergeant of the police.
“The Khust Police Department initiated criminal proceedings over the incident. Preliminary legal classification is Part 2 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Deliberately infliction of bodily injury to an officer of a law enforcement agency in connection with the performance of the employee’s official duties). The sanction of this article provides for a sentence in the form of restriction of liberty for a term up to 5 years or imprisonment for the same term. The circumstances of the case are being established by Khust police investigators,” – police said.
