Last autumn, workers of the Beregovo State Forestry Enterprise conducted several stages of the environmental ampaign "The future of the forest is in your hands," during which students from Hungarian and Ukrainian schools and forest protection workers were harvesting acorns. In total, they gathered almost 3.5 tons of acorns. About half of those, were allocated by the foresters for stratification, in order to plant these acorns in the nurseries.
In 2018, foresters plan to plant about 152 thousand trees and shrubs, acorns and create new plantations in Beregovo district.
Foresters remind that on March 21 the World Forest Day is celebrated. In recent years, on the initiative of the State Forestry Agency of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian wide-ranging campaign "The future of the forest is in your hands" starts in Ukraine on this day.
