Today, June 4, the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library, in the framework of the program "Days of Sustainable Energy", hosted a master class for children on matters of renewable energy, in particular making of toys on solar panels.
During the master class, young library visitors were enthusiastically learning to assemble toys on solar panels and watched how they worked. Representatives of the public organization "Ecosphere" told the children what solar energy is, how safe it is for the environment, why it is necessary to use it.
The Days of Sustainable Energy are an event that is held annually in many European countries, and also in Uzhgorod. This is one of the commitments taken by Uzhgorod when joining the Covenant of Mayors, an initiative of the European Union to work systematically on reducing carbon emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, and improving the quality of life with a reduction in harmful effects on the environment. The organizers of the "Days of Sustainable Energy" are Uzhgorod City Council and NGO "Ecosphere".
