Today in the morning, in the town of Volovets, a stone retaining wall of the Vycha river bank along Karpatska street collapsed. This road has the status of regional importance and is maintained by the road service in Transcarpathian region.
The town management has notified the service and the district commission for emergencies of the risk of road displacement in the downtown area.
Cracks already appeared on the street. Meanwhile, they examined the state of the retaining wall – the town council recognized the necessity of overhaul. The right bank of the river near the house of Volovets District Court is also under the threat of displacement.
The town budget has no funds for the repair.
