According to the rescuers, the fire occurred in the warehouse of the main and largest office of the company on Kopernik street at about 21:00, on Friday, August 24.
According to the official information, the report of a fire in the warehouse of the "Nova Poshta" office No. 1 on Kooperativna street in Mukachevo was received at 20:50. At 22:25, the fire was contained. Moreover, according to preliminary data, nobody was injured as a result of the fire, and half of the building with a total area of 2,400 square meters was saved.
The press secretary of the company Zoya Shevchuk said that the "Nova Poshta" would compensate for all the parcels destroyed by the fire in Mukachevo.
– The terminal was equipped with all necessary means of fire safety. Once we have the access to the territory of the terminal, the damages will be estimated. All the lost parcels will be compensated for, – she said.
The State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region informed that 10 units of the main firefighting equipment and 3 units of auxiliary equipment, as well as more than 50 rescuers were working for the elimination of the fire. In particular, as of 22:00, crews of the 2nd fire and rescue unit of Mukachevo, the fire brigade of the village of Dertsen in Mukachevo district, equipment and rescuers from state fire and rescue units of the cities of Svalyava, Irshava, Beregovo and the town of Serednye in Uzhgorod district are working at the scene.
PS According to the latest reports from the scene, the premises of the Nova Poshta office №1 in Mukachevo are still smoking. Law enforcers are working at the scene. The firefighters did save half of the building, but the other half does not belong to "Nova Poshta". The part owned by the "Nova Poshta" burnt down completely. At present, the fire has been eliminated, but the rubble is still smoking. Firefighters are going to clear the rubble.
