In Mizhhirya district, the top official was threatened with murder

The police is establishing the circumstances of the incident involving Mizhhirya district council chairman.

January 7, around 23.30, the chairman of Mizhhirya district council Vasyl Shchur and his brother were driving on the main street of the town. Opposite the local prosecutor’s office, he noticed police officers and two local residents. The latters were hotly arguing about something.

As it turned out, the police had stopped the car. The driver was drunk. This was later confirmed in a medical facility. The driver was a member of the local "Self-defense", a resident of the town of Mizhhirya, who has a long-standing conflict with the chairman of the district council.

When Vasyl Shchur came up to the policemen to find out what was happening, citizen F. and his wife started swearing at him. Then, they threatened him with physical violence and even murder.

An investigation over this fact is being carried out.
