The Transcarpathian Hungarian community traditionally commemorates the anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution and the War of Independence of 1848-1849.
In Uzhgorod, this event has always been celebrated on Sandor Petofi square. However, tomorrow’s visit of the President of Ukraine on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Carpathian Ukraine, whose official program does not include a visit to the regional center of Transcarpathia, has made adjustments to traditional celebrations. This was informed by the newspaper Kárpáti Igaz Szó, referring to the election campaign in Ukraine.
The celebrations will be held in Uzhgorod at the address: Pravoslavna embankment, 12, in the courtyard of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod. The main speaker of the event is the Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine Istvan Igyarto.
The beginning is at 16.00 (Central European Time)
