Illegal migrants were detained near Hlyboke. They told border guards about threats from traffickers

In the morning, operatives from the Western Regional Office and border guards of the Chop detachment detained in Uzhgorod district six illegal migrants and a guide.

During the joint operation "Frontier-2018", on the outskirts of the village of Hlyboke, officers of the operative search unit and the troops of the "Uzhgorod" department found two unknown Orientals.

The foreigners were in the border area without any documents. In order to find other possible illegal migrants, the soldiers continued search activities and soon found another four immigrants from eastern countries. They were hiding in the forest 500 meters from the road. Five detainees, also without documents, told that they were citizens of India, another one – a Pakistani citizen. Not far from the Asians, the border guards detained our compatriot, probably the guide. He did not have any documents on him too and could not explain to the law-enforcers what he was doing near the border in the company of illegals. According to the offenders, the organizers of illegal migration threatened them with weapons, demanded money and even promised to kill them. The investigating group of the National Police was called to the place of detention. Border guards, meanwhile, continue searching with a sniffer dog, – the press service of the Chop border guard detachment reported.
