On the last Saturday of the month, January 27, one of the most colorful gastronomic festivals of Transcarpathia will take place in the village of Hecha in Beregovo district. The international festival-contest of butchers will be held for the twelfth time.
Guests of the festival will have a chance to taste a variety of pork dishes and taste the Transcarpathian wines.
In the morning, teams of professional butchers from different villages of Transcarpathia will gather in front of the building of the Hecha village council, they will be joined by teams from Hungary and other neighboring countries. The guests of the festival will be treated with hot wine and home-made vodka.
During the day, cooks will be making various traditional Transcarpathian dishes with fresh meat. Visitors will be able to see the process of delicious food cooking and to taste it.
The festivities will include an exhibition-fair of craftsmen’s works, as well as fun music, songs and dances. The official opening of the festival will take place at 13.00.
