Russian gas monopolist offers Slovakia further reduction of the price for imported Russian gas.
This was reported by the Slovak newspaper Hospodarske Noviny, the state agency "Ukrinform" quotes.
"Following the meeting of the Chairman of "Gazprom" OJSC Alexey Miller and the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico in Bratislava, "Gazprom" has offered the Slovak gas company (SPP) to amend the current agreement under which Slovakia will be receiving gas at a cheaper price" – the statement reads.
Representatives of the SPP confirmed the fact of negotiations on amending the contract to supply fuel. "Gazprom" refused to comment, the Hospodarske Noviny wrote.
In 2011, "Gazprom" already reduced gas prices for the Slovak company, but even then the amount of discount was not made public, the article states.
As you know, earlier it was reported that Slovakia claims to be ready to reverse gas to Ukraine, but they say that Ukraine lacks required technical facilities. "Naftogaz" says such decision is "politically motivated."
