Four attempts to illegally import branded shoes to Ukraine were prevented over the past 24 hours

Yesterday afternoon at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", inspectors and customs officers found in two Mercedes trucks packages with well-known European branded shoes to be moved illegally across the border. 12 pairs of men’s leather shoes in one vehicle and 6 pairs in another one were not declared in the accompanying documents and were not declared by the driver.

In the evening, similar goods were found at the checkpoint "Tisa". They were being transported across the border with a similar violation. 11 pairs of women’s shoes made in Italy were being carried to Ukraine in a minibus "Mercedes" in the luggage compartment. They were not declared in the accompanying documents.
The final, but the largest batch of shoes was found this morning. Our compatriot tried to import 54 pairs of different women’s models to Ukraine in violation of the established procedure.
According to the current legislation, the found items were seized by customs officers. The value of the seized goods is currently being established, the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
