Regional deputies, former members of the Party of Regions decided to create a new faction in the regional council. Its name is "Transcarpathia". The faction is comprised of 20 deputies. It is headed by Petro Hrytsyk, former Party of Regions member.
The newly elected head of the faction, headed Perechyn District State Administration until February. He comes within the provisions of the lustration law and has no right to work in the government for the next ten years. The faction includes five former Party of Regions members.
Interestingly, the Party of Regions members in the Regional Council once already formed a faction with a similar name – "For the development of Transcarpathia", which lasted just over a year.
