Forecasters and traffic police warn of slippery roads

Police warn drivers about severe weather conditions and ask to be as careful and cautious as possible. According to the press service of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the National Weather Service, in the next four days sleet and sometimes snow is expected on the roads.

January 9, in the eastern part of the country, the Crimea and at the Azov Sea there will be storms, and during the day on January 10 in the western regions there will be snow (January 9 at night, in the east – heavy snow). January 11, at night in western and northern regions, and during the day in most parts of the country there wil be snow, sleet, during the day in the south – snow with rain.

Traffic Police of Ukraine urges drivers to adhere to the traffic rules. During heavy precipitation you should switch beam headlights (or fog lamps) on, observe speed limit, parking rules (so as not to interfere with snow cleaning machines), move with caution on bridges and overpasses, avoid risky maneuvers that can lead to accidents under adverse weather conditions.

In addition, the traffic police recommend drivers during severe weather conditions, if possible, not to travel by their own transport, and those who do – to be as careful and cautious while driving as possible.
