For the first time, a purely Transcarpathian holiday – “St. Basil’s Day” – is loudly celebrated in Uzhgorod

Although it is celebrated on January 14, it is not the Old New Year, because the holiday of St. Basil has a special meaning for Transcarpathians.

Today, at the artistic and cultural center Owl’s Nest, you can listen to carols and folk songs, enjoy wine, cheese and meat.

Also you can contribute to a noble cause: volunteers of the Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers treat visitors to mulled wine and biscuits. All the proceeds, as always, will be used for the defenders of Ukraine.  

PS. One thing to consider – it is advisable to wear rubber boots.
