By the decision of Vynogradiv District Court dd. January 31, 2012, the senior investigator of Vynogradiv District Police and the chief of the criminal police for children of Vynogradiv District Police were found guilty.
The police officers, who, in January 2012, demanded and received from a citizen Zh. a bribe in the amount of $ 2500 U.S. dollars, were convicted under Part 3 of Art.368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (bribery on a large scale combined with extortion) and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to occupy positions connected with the functions of representative of law enforcement authorities for a period of 3 years with probation period of 3 years.
