According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Transcarpathians – participants of the ATO – Vasyl Nalyvayko and Andriy Palai were awarded with orders "For courage" of the III degree. Unfortunately, posthumously.
Private Vastl Nalyvayko served in the 128th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He tragically died on June 28 in the ATO area of. He was 23 years old. He was from the village of Stavne in Velyky Berezny district, where he is buried.
Soldier Andrew Palai, gunner of the anti-aircraft artillery division of the rocket and artillery company of the 128th brigade, a native of Uzhgorod. He was 29 years old. He died in February, his body was identified by the "Officer Corps" among the 11 soldiers of the 128th Brigade who fell in the area of Debaltseve in Donetsk region.
On Thursday, June 18, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal performed an honorable but also sad mission. The head of the region met with relatives of our heroes – father Vasyl Nalyvayko and mother Katerina Palay to give them awards and to talk.
First of all, he thanked the parents for having brought great sons, true patriots and heroes.
Then, the head to the region asked the grieving parents whether they had any problems and whether they had received state allowance provided to families in such cases.
"You have to take advantage of everything that the state has provided for you and what we can provide. And please immediately report any problems that arise in your life. I also emphasizes that any incidents, where state officials do not cooperate and create difficulties for you, will be made public. You deserve great honor and respect and should feel our care," – the head of the region said.
Vasyl Hubal also expressed hope that the street in Velyky Berezny, where Vasyl Nalyvayko lived and where his family lives now, would be renamed in honor of our hero.
