Evening in commemoration of Petro Skunts will be held on May 21

5 years have passed since the death of one of the greatest Transcarpathian poets Petro Skunts on Monday, April 30.

Shevchenko Laureate’s relatives and colleagues from the Transcarpathian National Writers Union lit the candles and put flowers on his grave. And then remembered the poet, interpreter, publicist and public figure in their ‘writers’ house.

The evening of memory to the 70^th anniversary of Petro Skunts will be held in the Transcarpathian Puppet Theater on May 21. There will be heard the hero of the anniversary poetry, memories concerning him, songs on his poems, they will also show some videos. Guests from Lviv will also be present. In particular, the famous researched of Petro Skunts creation works the Doctor of Philological Sciences Petro Ivanyshyn from Drogobych and National Artist of Ukraine from Lviv National Theatre named after Maria Zankovetska Svyatoslav Maksymchuk, who incredibly recites the poetry of Transcarpathian writer.

We want to remind you that this year’s anniversaries of Transcarpathian geniuses Petro Skunts and Ivan Chendey will be celebrated at the state level.
