It is almost the end of the year. A special season, when nearly every day is a holiday. Next weekend, all Christians of the Western rite will celebrate Christmas.
"Adeste fideles" (lat. "Come, all faithfuls") is a solemn Catholic carol, known since the XVIII century. And this is also the title of the program prepared by the ensemble of soloists "Harmonia" of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic which will presented on the main stage of the region on December 25.
Traditional Ukrainian Christmas carols, spiritual pieces and well-known Christmas songs in English, Italian, German, Hungarian will be performed by Honored Artist of Ukraine Oksana Kharkhalis (mezzo-soprano), Marina Lavra (soprano), Oleksandr Tovt (tenor), Mykhailo Podkopaev (bass).
Several solo pieces will be performed by the instrumental ensemble under the direction of Anastasia Zhuzhhova, as well as by Tetyana Tishchenko (organ) and Susanna Dyachenko (violin). The artists are preparing a real Christmas and New Year trip, where the moving prayer to the Mother of God ("Ave Maria") will be followed by joyous "Jingle Bells", and pieces of contemporary composers will be performed along with Baroque music.
The festive collection will consist of the works by Bach, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, Handel, Bellini, Pierpoint, Sonevytsky and others.
