During the past 24 hrs, Transcarpathian police have detained four drunk drivers, one of whom had caused an accident, and the other three did not have driver’s licenses

Over the past day, officers of the Transcarpathian patrol police response team documented cases of driving under the influence of alcohol in Vynogradiv, Svalyava, Tyachiv and Rakhiv districts.

In the city of Svalyava, a minor accident happened in the evening: a Mercedes Vito ran into the back of a Mitsubishi Lancer. Both cars suffered minor damages, but when the police arrived at the scene of the accident, they found out that the driver of the "Mersedes", a resident of Svalyava, was in a state of intoxication. He did not have a driver’s license, and refused to undergo medical examination. Law enforcement officers made several reports of administrative offense against the driver: for the commission of the accident, driving in a state of intoxication and without a driver’s license. The car was taken to the police impound lot.

In the village of Teresva, Tyachiv district, at night, officers of the patrol police response team stopped a "VAZ-2105" with the tail lights off. It was driven by a local resident who did not have a driver’s license and was in a state of intoxication. He refused to undergo medical examination. In the presence of witnesses, appropriate reports of administrative offense were drawn up, the car was taken to the police impound lot.

In the village of Korolevo in Vynogradiv district, officers of the patrol police response team stopped a Moskvich, the driver of which was not fastened with a safety belt. The car was driven by a local resident in the state of alcohol intoxication. This was confirmed during the medical examination in the hospital. Appropriate report of administrative offense was drawn up against the offender for driving in the state of intoxication, his driver’s license was seized.

In Rakhiv, officers of the Patrol Police Response Team stopped an unregistered motorcycle "Mustang", the driver of which was not wearing a safety helmet. The car was driven by a local resident in the state of alcohol intoxication. The man also did not have a driver’s license. During the medical examination in the hospital, 1.5 ppm of alcohol was found in his blood, and the policemen drew up the appropriate report of administrative offense and seized the driver’s license.

All the reports of administrative offenses against the offenders under Art. 130 of the CAO (Driving a vehicle by a person who is in a state of alcohol intoxication) will be forwarded to the court for making a final decision.
