Don’t take picture near the monument to Fentsyk in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

The marble monument to Transcarpathian writer, church leader Yevhen Fentsyk, located near the Philharmonic in the park of the same name, has been "marked" with a black paint.

Tourists and visitors to our city and its residents come to the park either to relax, or to take pictures of the place, where the bust of Ye. Fentsyk stands on a pedestal, and everything around it. And no wonder: this is the second oldest park monument in our city, which was established in 1926.

The monument to Fentsyk escaped the tragic fate that befell many other monuments during the era of the Soviet totalitarian system, but could not resist present day vandals. They spoil central architectural monuments and undermine the image of the hospitable and intelligent city.

Finally, the image, the method and the place of its application are evidence of not only a lack of culture, but also a lack of talent. We can only hope that passers-by will not be "admiring" the graffiti for long…
