Domestic and travel passports from now on shall be issued by the Migration Service

Preparation and issuance of travel passports, passports of the citizen of Ukraine, registration of residence of individuals, and other functions determined by the legislation on citizenship and immigration, since the beginning of the new year will be performed by the State Migration Service of Ukraine.Previously, these functions belonged to the competence of units of the Department of Citizenship, Immigration and Registration of Persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.  According to the Chief of the Main Office of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region Igor Mykhaylyshyn, the transfer of these powers in the region was carried out in an organized way without creating inconvenience to citizens. Also on January 4 this year, the new order of registration of residence came into force. Now this procedure is carried out in one and the same place and on the day of approaching to the registration authority. That is, in order to withdraw from the pre-registration and register a new residence, one has only submit the appropriate application to the territorial division of the migration service at the new place of residence. These innovations are aimed at significantly improving the procedures for the registration of residence of individuals and issuance of passports. Last year, the migration service of the region issued nearly 35,500 passports of the citizen Ukraine.
