Cut or leave? Uzhgorod residents are invited to inspect the sakuras of the Halahov neighborhood together with the botanists (Announcement)

There is a controversy over whether to replace the sakuras in the historic center of Uzhgorod.

Citizens ask the city authorities to keep their hands away from the symbol of the city, but experts claim that the old sakuras are sick and even dangerous, so some of them will have to be gotten rid of.

The botanist Yaroslava Hasynets invites everyone to come to the "Czech" quarter of the city together, examine the trees and discuss their condition and further fate.

In a post on her facebook, she invites to meet this Saturday, November 11, to discuss the green architecture of the city. "We invite all those who are interested, as well as the media representatives to discuss the issue and to take part in the green reconstruction of the historic part of the city. The meeting will be held on Saturday at 10:00 (gathering near the school number 3)," – she says.

If you have questions and suggestions, you know the time and place.

By the way, in the online poll in the facebook community "Uzhgorod" with the question "What to do with the sakuras in the Halahov neighbourhood?", the answer "Inspect each tree and cut only very sick ones" is far ahead. And what do you think?
