Consulate of Italy suspended visa issuance to Ukrainians

Due to the excessive increase in the number of applications registration for a tourist visa has been suspended.

Consulate of Italy has suspended issuance of tourist and business visas to Ukrainian citizens. This has been informed by the website of the Italian Visa Application Centre in Kiev.

"According to the order of the Consulate of Italy, due to the excessive increase in the number of applications, registration for a tourist visa has been suspended. It will be possible to apply for a business visa from July 23" – they said on the site.

In the visa application center they say that they do not have information on the number of tourist and business visas issued by the Consulate. "One may apply for a visa, but the lists are made only for August," – visa application center informs.

As reported in January, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine had also restricted the issuance of visas due to their moving building.

We also remind that the European Commission has recently approved the simplification of visas issuance to Ukrainians. In the list of "favorable" categories that receive free long-term visas under simplified procedure, journalists, social activists and prosecutors are included.
