Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod are concerned about the attack on Hungarian tourists

16 March 2013. in the afternoon, two groups of Hungarian tourists were attacked by young men dressed in dark clothing and coarse shoes. They insulted the Hungarians, called them Nazis, and tore off their Cap Badges – a symbol of Hungarian national holiday, the 15th of March. The incident is particularly serious because among the victims there were children, said the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod. 

Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod are surprised and outraged by the information received about violent attacks and strongly condemn them. The attack on Hungarian tourists caused severe and negative reactions from Hungary. We believe that the dissemination of news in the world of attacks on foreigners may only cause harm, because, believing in poor public safety, many tourists will refuse to travel to the country.

After receiving the information about the incident, two consuls immediately met with one of the groups, which had been attacked, and gave them the necessary assistance.

Consulate General informed the management of the region and the city of the incident and requested to investigate the case of attack on Hungarian tourists. 

Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod hope that the attacks on Hungarian tourists will never happen again, and the responsible authorities will do everything possible to prevent incidents of this kind.
