Cigarette smuggling was attempted at the checkpoint “Tisa” (PHOTOS)

Last night, border guards of the Chop detachment once again prevented illegal transportation of cigarettes from Ukraine to EU countries.

The contraband tobacco products were found during a joint inspection of a minibus Mercedes with Polish registration at the checkpoint "Tisa"
The vehicle was driven by a 38-year-old Romanian citizen. Given the unusual itinerary of the trip and match with departmental risk profiles, border guards decided to send the vehicle for in-depth inspection. As a result of the inspection, 600 packs of cigarettes of different brands were found in specially made caches located in the side walls of the minibus.
Thus, the foreigner lost both the cigarettes and the vehicle. The total value of the confiscated items is over UAH 110 thousand.
