Checkpoint “Uzhgorod” expects money for reconstruction

47 million hryvnias are needed for the reconstruction of the passenger passageway at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the Slovak-Ukrainian border. 3.6 million euros are expected from the European Union as a grant in the framework of the "European Neighbourhood and Partnership" project, 407 thousand euros must be received from the state budget of Ukraine. Today, October 26, this was discussed at a joint press conference of the Chief of the Chop Customs Oleksandr Pohylko and the Chief of Michalovce Customs Administration in Slovak Republic Milan Kachurik. 

Signing the grant agreement is scheduled for the end of December this year. After a complete reconstruction the full daily capacity of the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" will amount to 5,000 cars, 500 trucks, 80 buses, 10 thousand people. 

Oleksandr Pohylko assumes that the movement of people and cars during reconstruction will not be fully blocked.
