This year, Transcarpathian rescuers registered 450 fires in the region, including 11 wildfires. That is why, a joint training of rescuers and foresters on elimination of wildfires took place in the Dubky tract, in the village of Kamyanytsia.
80 members of the personnel took place in the demonstration elimination of fire. It was eliminated using special equipment, including helicopters.
Such trainings are conducted from time to time. This time, 7 pieces of equipment and personnel of 80 people – rescue workers and foresters – were engaged.
Fires in Transcarpathia occur frequently, in particular because of the burning of agricultural waste and tourists who forget to put out a fire. This was told by the head of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region Roman Hudak.
According to the scenario, because of the large forest fire, rescuers called a helicopter. The aircraft can accommodate two and a half tons of water. If a fire occurred in an area, which is difficult to reach, this type of equipment is indispensable.
