Border guards detained an illegal immigrant from Syria on the outskirts of Uzhgorod

Last night, border guards of the Chop detachment detained a foreigner who was trying to enter Slovakia illegally from Ukraine. 
The unknown man was noticed by border guards from the department "Uzhgorod". The man tried to sneak unnoticed near the checkpoint "Uzhgorod". He was stopped 50 meters from the state border. 
The offender said he was a Syrian citizen. He did not have any documents with him. As the police later established, the foreigner had been staying in Ukraine for a long time and had reached Transcarpathia on his own. 
The detainee was taken to the border guard unit for identification and establishing the circumstances of the offense. The decision in his case will be made by the court.
