Today, two big sporting events, that have brought together fans of motor sport not only from our region and other regions of Ukraine, but also from abroad, are taking place in Uzhgorod.
For the fifth consecutive year, the motorcycle sport championship of Transcarpathian region and the Open Cup of Uzhgorod is taking place on Zahorska street, – the Uzhgorod City Council reported.
The organizer of the championship is the motorcycle club "Zahorkros". The event was held with the assistance of the Motorcycling Federation of Ukraine and Uzhgorod City Council, as well as sponsors.
On the occasion of the start of the competition, last year’s winners raised the state flag. Sportsmen from Uzhgorod and different parts of Transcarpathia, as well as from other regions of Ukraine – Chernivtsi, Khmelnytsky, Ivano-Frankivsk – took part in the competitions. Also, motorcyclists from Slovakia took part in the "veteran" class.
Teams, as well as private persons who have a category in motorcycling sport and a license of the FMSU, are allowed to take part in the competitions. More than 60 participants registered for the competition, the youngest participant is 7 years old.
The awarding ceremony will take place in the evening.
