Beregovo firefighters in cooperation with Hungarian colleagues rescued a man from under the bus

Today, the operational-rescue service of Transcarpathia was reported that in the neutral zone of the checkpoint "Luzhanka" on the border of Ukraine and Hungary, the driver of a bus "SETRA" had been injured.

Firefighters of the 12th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Beregovo were sent at the scene to help the victim. Along with them came employees of the local fire station from neighboring Hungary. They found out that the driver – a 40-year-old citizen of Hungary – was moving toward Ukraine. In the neutral zone, he decided to repair the brakes, and got under the bus. When the air bag that was holding the vehicle broke, the vehicle pressed the driver to the ground.

Ukrainian and Hungarian rescuers used a mechanical jack and two pneumopillows to release the man from under the bus. After first aid, the victim was taken by an ambulance to a hospital in Hungary.
