Sessions of Beregovo District Council will now be accompanied by simultaneous Hungarian translation – informed the chairman of Beregovo District Council Andriy Bihari.
"Sessional meetings of the District Council from now on will be held with simultaneous translation into Hungarian. The appropriate equipment was purchased in 2007. Previously it has been used only during international meetings, but now, after the recognition of the Hungarian as the regional language in the district, it has been permanently installed in the premises of the District Council and was already used on the first meeting" – said Bihari.
According to him, the said innovation has greatly facilitated the work of the legislature, in which more than 80% of the members are representatives of the Hungarian minority.
"After installing the appropriate translation equipment deputies were able to speak freely in both Ukrainian and Hungarian languages, without the risk of misunderstandings or confusion when communicating with each other," – said the head of District Council.
