The preparations for large-scale parental protest in Uzhgorod continue. The cancellation of autumn holidays at their threshold caused outrage not only among students. Thousands of Transcarpathian families are forced to change their plans for the next week, and thousands do not want to obey the unreasonable, in their opinion, decision of the authorities. Therefore, parental movement activists have been tirelessly reporting on the protest planned on October 28. 

"It’s not picket or a meeting, it is a campaign to protect the rights of our children for holidays – a mother of a schoolgirl Olga Pavlova said to uzhgorod.in – which is why we encourage all to come at 9.00 on October 28 to Poshtova square together with children.Take colored chalk, bubbles and balloons as a symbol of the holidays that children were robbed of."

The Head of the Education Department of Uzhgorod City Executive Committee Oksana Babunych explained: "The motivation of the decision is this: currently, the weather conditions and epidemiological situation in schools is normal and good, therefore these warm, sunny, bright days should be used for studying.I fear that in November and December we will have to close schools for quarantine again…"

Recall that recommendation to cancel the autumn holidays was given by the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksandr Ledyda.  According to state officials, it will save energy, since the day temperature in the region is not below 17 degrees.
